Premier League Matchday 33 Preview: Man City Title Bandwagon Rolls On

We have reached the business end of the Premier League season and there are still loads of issues to be resolved before the campaign finishes.

Manchester City’s midweek victory over Arsenal has put them in pole position for the title and they will fancy their chances of picking up another three points at Fulham this weekend.

Several relegation contenders face tricky games on the road including Nottingham Forest, who head south to take on Brentford on Saturday.

Read on as we take a look at the standout games on Matchday 33 and assess some of the key betting angles to consider.

Highlights

  • Goals set to flow for Man City
  • Brentford look good against Forest
  • Villa still value in the top six market

Goals on the cards as Man City visit Fulham

Man City were imperious against the Gunners at the Etihad Stadium and it is difficult to imagine anyone stopping them in their quest to retain the title.

They should have little difficulty seeing off Fulham at Craven Cottage to extend their unbeaten run against the London side to 20 games in all competitions.

Goals have been a feature of City’s last few matches, with each of their previous four games seeing four or more goals scored during the 90 minutes.

The top UK betting apps are offering odds of 13/10 on over 3.5 goals this weekend and that looks good value given City’s awesome firepower.

Brentford should be too strong for Forest

Brentford have lost just twice at home this weekend and are strongly fancied to enhance their record when they host Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

The Bees triumphed 2-0 at Chelsea in midweek and still have an outside chance of qualifying for Europe if they finish the season with a flourish.

Having won just one of their 16 away games this term, scoring seven goals and conceding 39, a victory for Forest at Brentford would be a massive coupon buster.

Pairing Brentford and Man City in a weekend double is priced at just over Evens – as solid wagers go, this one looks too tempting to ignore.

Top six finish still on the cards for Villa

Aston Villa’s 1-0 victory over Fulham in midweek left them fifth in the table and still in with a good chance of ending the season inside the top six.

Villa were priced at 12/1 with Betzone just a few weeks ago, but have been slashed to 4/1 on the back of their excellent recent form.

Their remaining five games are not easy, with four of them coming against sides currently in the top half of the standings.

However, with some of their rivals also scheduled to play each other on the run-in, Villa may well hang onto their place in the top six.
