Grand National 2024: Mullins set for Incredible Day at Aintree

The eyes of the sporting world will be on Merseyside this weekend as the 2024 Grand National is staged at Aintree Racecourse. 
 
The National always generates a ton of activity on horse racing betting sites, with many punters placing their only bet of the year on the race. 
 
Read on as we assess some of the horses which will likely be in the mix to win on Saturday, before looking at the last Grand National betting. 

I Am Maximus is challenging for favouritism with Corach Rambler at the head of the betting after coming in for plenty of support on betting apps. 
 
The 2023 Irish National winner is one of several fancied runners trained by top trainer Willie Millions and he could be the favourite when the race gets underway. 
 
Mullins has not saddled the winner of the National since Hedgehunter triumphed in 2005, but he has an excellent chance of snapping that streak this weekend. 
 
I Am Maximus last season's National runner-up Vanillier by 14 lengths on his most recent outing and has been tipped to follow up by legendary jockey Sir Anthony McCoy. 
 
Meetingofthewaters is another fancied runner from the Mullins yard, but he may be little too high in the weights to do himself justice. 
 
Mr Incredible looks a more likely winner for Mullins having finished second under top weight in the Midlands Grand National at Uttoxeter last month. 
 
The horse was in the process of running a fine race in last year’s National before unseating jockey Brian Hayes after the second Canal Turn. He represents the value bet at odds of 12/1. 
 
Gordon Elliott’s Delta Work could also run well at a decent price, while Mahler Mission, Panda Boy, Kittys Light and Minella Indo should be competitive.
