News International is negotiating the potential acquisition of the Racing Post – the United Kingdom’s primary resource for racing industry information. 
 
However, the £300 million price tag is reportedly above the amount News International are willing to pay, with a figure closer to £200m believed to be the target.

News International Eager to Jump on the Betting Bandwagon

News International has been keen to grab a piece of the lucrative UK betting sector in recent years, but has failed to make any noteworthy inroads. 
 
However, the potential acquisition of the Racing Post would open the door for the media group to forge stronger relationships with horse racing betting sites
 
The Racing Post name is owned by its founder, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum of Dubai, one of the world’s more prominent racehorse owners. 

Sportradar Launches Enhanced NBA Betting Functionality

Sportradar has boosted its live betting functionality on the NBA League Pass platform, giving basketball fans more access to in-play markets. 
 
Fans will now be able to directly access betting sites through the streaming service, which will create a more seamless, customisable and engaging experience. 
 
NBA fans who want to wager in-play can receive exclusive betting information directly on NBA League Pass, making it easier for them to make informed decisions

RMG Hands Dowding a New Position

Ben Dowding has been confirmed as the new Chief Betting Officer for the Racecourse Media Group (RMG) following a shake-up of the company’s infrastructure. 
 
Dowding takes up the position following the merger of the firm’s domestic and international betting teams after previously serving as RMG’s Director of Betting. 
 
He will be tasked with boosting revenues for British and Irish racing through collaboration with domestic and international betting operators.
