Horse racing has been the mainstay of CoralUK sponsorship for a long time. The Coral Eclipse, run at Sandown over ten furlongs in early July each year, has held its name for almost 50 years, their sponsorship starting in 1976.
Chepstow's feature race of the year is the Welsh Grand National, run between Christmas and New Year. Coral has been the sponsor of this steeplechase since 1973, which is the longest continuous sponsorship in jumps racing. Staying chases are popular contests to sponsor at Coral as they also see their name on the Coral Scottish Grand National and Newbury's feature staying chase each autumn, the Coral Gold Cup.
The Cheltenham Festival is one of the biggest horse racing meetings in the world. Coral has one of the big handicaps on the second day of the meeting with the Coral Cup, a fiercely competitive hurdle run over 2m5f.
One of the more recent additions to their portfolio has been several contests at the Glorious Goodwood Festival. The Coral Golden Mile and the Coral Stewards' Cup are two feature handicaps at the five-day meeting.
In addition, Coral Romford stadium sees greyhound action, with their Friday night open race cards always a popular night out for the locals, with the track being the closest one left to London these days. Coral also sponsors Brighton & Hove greyhound stadium.
