One of the more attractive ties of the group stages was always this meeting between Colombia and Portugal and it will decide top spot in Group K.
Colombia have been efficient in the tournament thus far, dispatching of DR Congo and Uzbekistan and they should be a side to watch as the tournament progresses.
Much was made of Portugal's struggles in their first game against DR Congo but they responded brilliantly to hammer Uzbekistan and they will be full of confidence here.
A draw sees Colombia top the group and while Portugal won't want to let that happen, this may be one that both sides chalk off as a tie and move on, with some bigger games coming in the next few days.

DR Congo to win the match to nil (3/1)
Both DR Congo and Uzbekistan have impressed hugely over the past week or so but they face off here in a direct battle for a third place spot.
DR Congo held Portugal, before being narrowly beaten by Colombia, while Uzbekistan showed up better against Colombia before capitulating against the Portuguese.
Within their squad, DR Congo have some proven Premier League players and as the draw has panned out, they are beginning to look like being a side capable of reaching the knockout rounds.
They are defensively very sound and should be able to keep out the Uzbekistan attack and win this one quite comfortably.

Algeria vs Austria

Group J was always going to be about holders Argentina and so it has proven.
Both of these sides have lost out to Argentina, with Lionel Messi scoring all five goals against them, meaning second place is on the agenda here.
Wins over Jordan have given both sides a boost, with Austria holding a two goal better difference numerically across the two games.
On paper, this maybe a game that suits the Austrians more but pragmatism will come to the fore here and both sides may accept the draw and progress to the round of 32.

It has been a blistering start to the 2026 World Cup by holders Argentina and they are already assured of their place in the last 32 as group winners.
Next up is a meeting with Jordan, who gave both Austria and Algeria a scare but this is a serious step up in trip.
Argentina and Lionel Messi appear to be as dangerous and potent as ever, with confidence in the camp sky high.
Although they may rotate, Argentina are well placed to win this one and maintain their 100% record at the tournament.

South Africa vs Canada
Canada to win the match (3/4)
In one of the more remarkable turnarounds of the tournament, South Africa overcame a dreadful opening game, to qualify in second place in Group A, behind Mexico.
Bifana Bifana now take on Canada, who will be desperate to continue their dream run, having made it out of a World Cup group for the very first time.
Knockout football is always intense and both sides will believe they have what it takes to progress to the last 16.
On paper though, this should be all about Canada, who continue to bloom under Jesse Marsch and they should win this one and move on.
