The knockout rounds of the 2026 FIFA World Cup come very much into view over the next few days and June 27th is a huge day of action.

Twelve teams are in action once again, with six games on the card across the 24 hours in Canada, Mexico and the United States.

England's hopes of topping the group remain in their own hands but they know they will need a solid win over Panama.

Any slip up will let Ghana or Croatia in, who will also be vying for second and third place in Group L.

Cape Verde's incredible run continues, as they take on Saudi Arabia, two big hitters clash in Uruguay and Spain, while New Zealand take on winless Belgium.

Elsewhere, Egypt and Iran clash, with both sides also harbouring knockout round aspirations.

Expert Tips for World Cup Day 17 | June 27

The intensity of an expanded World Cup schedule comes to a head on June 27, with six games played throughout the course of the day.

Group H is the first to run its course, with Spain in pole position to qualify, while Cape Verde, Uruguay and Saudi Arabia line up in hot pursuit.

It has been curiously tight in Group G, with Belgium chasing their first win of the tournament against New Zealand, while Egypt and Iran battle it out in search of precious World Cup points.

England still top Group L, a position they will stay in if they beat Panama, with Ghana and Croatia in the mix behind them, with all three teams in a decent position to qualify with a win.

Cape Verde vs Saudi Arabia

Cape Verde to win the match (6/4)

Despite coming into the World Cup as one of the more unfancied nations, Cape Verde have made headlines with their two superb performances.

Draws with Spain and Uruguay have given them a real chance of creating history at this World Cup.

Saudi Arabia however will be doing all they can to stop this from happening but they know a win is the only way they can progress from the group.

Consequently, this could be an entertaining game, with both sides sure to be on the front foot from the outset.

Momentum does appear to be with Cape Verde though and they are decent value to win the game..

🗸 Long Shot: Cape Verde to win & BTTS (4/1)
🗸 Extra Tip: Over 2.5 goals (19/20)

Uruguay vs Spain

Spain to win the match with -1.5 handicap (13/10)

Heading into the World Cup, there was a feeling that Uruguay could cause somewhat of a shock at the tournament.

However, they have looked abject against Cape Verde and Saudi Arabia and now have it all to do against Spain.

There is confidence brimming within this Spanish squad, who will be desperate to clinch top spot in the group here.

Lamine Yamal was at his devestating best against Saudi Arabia and he along with his team mates could run riot against this Uruguay side who look very low on confidence..

🗸 Long Shot: Lamine Yamal to score first (5/1)
🗸 Extra Tip: Over 4.5 cards (2/1)

New Zealand vs Belgium

Belgium to win the match to nil (7/10)

One of the most underwhelming sides at the World Cup thus far have been Belgium, who laboured to draws against Egypt and Iran.

Next up is a meeting with New Zealand, who have picked up one point from their two games against the aforementioned sides.

The Kiwis are well organised and will look to play on any frailties displayed by the Belgians but this should be one-way traffic.

Belgium will look to play with more pace in wide areas than they have been doing and now in a must-win game situation, they should come through this one and progress to the knockout rounds.

🗸 Long Shot: Jeremy Doku to score or assist 2+ goals (7/1)
🗸 Extra Tip: Belgium to be winning at HT and FT (1/2)

Egypt vs Iran

Egypt to win the match (5/4)

Two sides with real chances of making the last 32 meet here, as Egypt take on Iran.

Egypt won their first World Cup match in over 50 years against New Zealand and they should take real confidence from that showing into this one.

This Iranian side are plucky and defensively assured, as demonstrated in draws against New Zealand and Belgium but they can lack an attacking outlet.

With a win here, Egypt are guaranteed to top the group and with that carrot, they should have enough to win this one.

🗸 Long Shot: Egypt to win & BTTS (4/1)
🗸 Extra Tip: Mohamed Salah to score anytime (13/10)

Panama vs England

England to win the match to nil (1/2)

Backing up their opening game win against Croatia was never going to be easy for England and they lacked fluency against Ghana.

In this one against Panama, they start as very strong favourites and Thomas Tuchel could look to shuffle his pack and give minutes to plenty of players in his squad.

Panama know their race is run, having lost both of their opening games but they are an organised and physical side that England will need to be wary of.

This should be all about the Three Lions though, who know a win should be enough to see them progress as group winners.

🗸 Long Shot: Correct Score: England to win 3-0 (8/1)
🗸 Extra Tip: Harry Kane to score anytime (8/11)

Croatia vs Ghana

Croatia to win the match (4/5)

The final game in Group L pits Croatia against Ghana, two teams that could progress together from the pool.

Croatia were well beaten by England but bounced back with a good showing against Panama and they should be full of confidence.

Ghana were too resolute and physical for England but they know they will need at least a draw here to be assured of a spot in the last 32.

This will be cagey potentially, with both sides perhaps happy to accept at draw but Croatia's individual quality could prove to be the difference maker.

🗸 Long Shot: Croatia to win & BTTS (4/1)
🗸 Extra Tip: A red card to be awarded (3/1)
