Top Picks for World Cup Day 13 | June 23rd
Portgual vs Uzbekistan
Portugal to Win to Nil (-173)
Portugal dropped points against DR Congo in their opening Group K encounter. The Central African nation deserved their points and were the better side, particularly in the second half. Cristiano Ronaldo's selection was baffling, with CR7 struggling to get involved and seemingly slowing down every single attack. It remains to be seen whether Roberto Martinez opts to drop him for this fixture. Portugal have also had defensive issues with Ruben Diaz carrying an injury, yet their back-line may not be too troubled by Uzbekistan on Tuesday afternoon.
Uzbekistan were defeated by Colombia in their opener, and although they did manage to get on the scoresheet, they lacked cutting edge, touching the ball just five times in their opponents' box. Although they did hit the woodwork, they may not have enough to trouble the Portuguese defence, with the former European champions likely to keep hold of the ball for long periods of this game.
Nevertheless, they may have to be patient, and it may require some assistance from the bench to turn the game in their favour.
🗸 Long Shot: Portugal 2-0 Uzbekistan - Correct Score (+450)
🗸 Extra Tip: Portugal Highest Scoring Half - Second Half (+114)
England vs Ghana
Over 2.75 Goals (-125)
England were electric going forward against Croatia in their opening game, although they were also prone to switching off at the back. Thomas Tuchel was unhappy with his side's first-half performance, and they came out firing in the second period. The Three Lions can essentially secure qualification with a victory in this contest, and they are likely to prioritise this game, allowing them to rest and rotate against Panama.
They are unlikely to change tactics, and that should result in an open and exciting 90 minutes. They possess plenty of firepower on the bench with Marcus Rashford, Bukayo Saka and Eberechi Eze all able to stretch the tired legs of the opposition. They are likely to rack up a few goals after the break.
Ghana were victorious in their opening Group L encounter, although their success was fairly undeserved. They struggled to create too many meaningful chances and were outshot 11-3 by their opponents. This could be a long evening for Carlos Queiroz's men.
🗸 Long Shot: England 3-1 Ghana - Correct Score (+1100)
🗸 Extra Tip: Over 1.5 England Second Half Goals (+128)
Panama vs Croatia
Both Teams to Score (100)
Panama were fairly impressive in their opener despite failing to take anything from it. They looked fairly competent going forward and created some decent opportunities. Although there is the possibility that England may make changes for their third group game, the Caribbean nation must throw everything at this game if they are to secure qualification from Group L. There is very little point in sitting back and playing for the draw as that may not be enough to see them through to the next round of the competition.
Croatia were badly exposed by England, and they required their goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic to make a string of saves to keep the score down. They managed to score twice and did have a few dangerous moments, but they struggled to exert control in midfield. They should have the quality to win this game, but it wouldn't be a surprise to see them concede against a determined Panama.
🗸 Long Shot: Panama 1-2 Croatia - Correct Score (+750)
🗸 Extra Tip: Over 2.5 Goals (-105)
Colombia vs DR Congo
Both Teams to Score (+130)
Colombia were deserved winners against Uzbekistan last week, chalking up an xG of 1.61 and creating four big chances. They were dangerous going forward, and although they conceded a second-half goal, they kept things relatively tight at the back. This will be a tougher assignment, and they will need to be at their best to see a DR Congo side who held Portugal to a 1-1 draw.
The Central African nation shaded that game and looked lively going forward with Cedric Bakambu and Yoann Wissa teaming up effectively. Even Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who hasn't enjoyed a particularly fruitful season in the Premier League, looked like he was enjoying himself and was a danger on the right flank.
Colombia have one foot in the next round, but with Portugal up next, they cannot afford any slip-ups. DR Congo will have taken plenty of confidence from last week's display and should be able to find a way through.
🗸 Long Shot: Luis Dias Anytime Goalscorer (+750)
🗸 Extra Tip: Over 2.25 Goals (-111)
