We've reached the 12th day of the 2026 World Cup. Here are today's best betting tips and predictions for each match

Top Picks for World Cup Day 12 | June 22nd

Argentina vs Austria

Over 2.5 Goals (-105)

Argentina's performance against Algeria may not have been a swashbuckling display, yet they were ruthless when it mattered, and Lionel Messi was in terrific form throughout the 90 minutes. They rarely needed to get out of second gear, with their North African opponents failing to land a shot on target.

The consensus is that this will be their toughest game in Group J, yet Austria's lacklustre performance against Jordan is unlucky to have the 2022 World Cup winners quaking in their boots. Ralf Rangnick's side picked up maximum points, limiting their opponents to just 0.46 xG, but there was just something missing from their performance, and they will need to be far better here.

Austria lacked a focal point until the arrival of Marko Arnautovic, but they did create four big chances, and they should be able to test the Argentinian defence. Neither side was particularly troubled by the opposition on MD1, but this will be a tougher test for both teams.

🗸 Long Shot: Lionel Messi to Score from Outside of the Box (+550)
🗸 Extra Tip: Argentina -1 Handicap (+105)

France vs Iraq

Over 3.5 France Team Goals (+128)

France's first-half performance was bitterly disappointing, with the Les Bleus struggling to break down Senegal and creating just 0.03 xG. Didier Deschamps was clearly unhappy with this showing, as his team came flying out of the blocks in the second 45, scoring three times and firing in eight shots on target. Kylian Mbappe scored two record-breaking goals, and Adrien Rabiot took the game by the scruff of the neck and controlled the midfield superbly.

Perhaps France have got that poor performance out of their system?

Worryingly for the rest of the group, the 1998 World Cup winners have an abundance of talent in reserve and were able to bring Bradley Barcola and Rayan Cherki off the bench. Marcus Thuram, Jean-Philippe Mateta and Warren Zaire-Emery could also be drafted into the XI for this game.

Iraq competed admirably against Norway, although the quality gap was evident. They conceded an xG of 2.52 and are likely to gift the French a few opportunities in this one.

🗸 Long Shot: Over 5.5 France Team Goals (+600)
🗸 Extra Tip: Michael Olise Anytime Goalscorer (+105)

Norway vs Senegal

Over 2.5 Goals (-105)

There were triumphant celebrations in Norway following their opening group game victory over Iraq. They look entirely convincing at times, but the gap in quality was enough to secure all three points, and Erling Haaland is off the mark for the tournament. With a game against France lined up next week to finish the group stage, the Norwegians will be keen to secure maximum points from their opening two matches to ensure qualification.

Senegal produced a strong first-half performance against France, limiting their opponents to scraps and creating some decent opportunities. They visibly tired after the break and struggled to contain Didier Deschamps' men, yet still managed to get on the scoresheet. They have plenty of quality and individuality in the squad, but lacked composure in front of goal at times.

They should be able to test the Norway defence and play their part in a potentially open and entertaining affair.

🗸 Long Shot: Both Teams to Score Two or More Goals (+450)
🗸 Extra Tip: Erling Haaland Anytime Goalscorer (-111)

Jordan vs Algeria

Under 2.5 Goals (-116)

This is one for the purists. The two minnows of Group J will meet on MD2, and there isn't expected to be much between them. Algeria were outclassed by Argentina in their opener, whereas Jordan fought valiantly against Austria before coming undone late in the second half.

Both sides may look to exploit set-pieces, but this game may be similar to Ghana vs Panama, with both sides failing to impress in the final third. Furthermore, neither side will want to lose this game, especially Jordan, who will face Argentina on MD3.

This isn't likely to live long in the memory.

🗸 Long Shot: Jordan 0-1 Algeria Correct Score (+550)
🗸 Extra Tip: Half-Time Result - Draw (+133)
