Top Picks for World Cup Day 26 | July 6th

Portugal vs Spain

Over 1.5 Spain Team Goals (-111)

Spain ambled their way through the group stage without looking like tournament winners at any stage. La Roja were able to turn on the style in the Round of 32 as they swept aside Austria, barely giving Ralf Rangnick's side a sniff. Luis de la Fuente is yet to lose a tournament knock-out game, winning ten of the last 11, and his side is extremely pleasing on the eye. Their possession stats are remarkable, and by keeping the ball, they limit the amount of damage that the opposition can inflict on them.

Furthermore, they have an abundance of talent waiting in the wings with Fabian Ruiz, Ferran Torres and Gavi all being deployed from the bench on Thursday evening. Martin Zubimendi, Yeremy Pino, Nico Williams and Borja Iglesias were all unused subs.

Portugal were involved in a dramatic 2-1 victory over Croatia, although they probably just about deserved to progress. Roberto Martinez's side hit the woodwork and had a goal disallowed, and had a nervy wait to find out if Josko Gvardiol's injury-time strike would be chalked off by VAR.

There are times during this tournament when the Portuguese have looked sumptuous going forward, yet there are others when they have stumbled and appeared clunky. Cristiano Ronaldo has improved as the tournament has progressed, yet some fans believe that the team is too focused on CR7.

Many of the previous meetings between these two sides have ended all-square, but Spain look too sharp, and Portugal haven't looked quite as efficient under Martinez recently.

🗸 Long Shot: Portugal 1-2 Spain - Correct Score (+750)
🗸 Extra Tip: Spain to Win and Over 1.5 Goals (+130)

USA vs Belgium

USA to Qualify (-132)

It's been a tournament of fast starts for the USA. Seven of their ten goals have been netted in the first half of games, and they are likely to be quick out of the blocks once again this evening. Mauricio Pochettino's side have looked slick going forward, although they will be forced to navigate this Round of 16 with Flo Balogun, who is suspended for this contest, somewhat unfairly.

Nevertheless, this team have scored 2+ goals in each of their fixtures so far and successfully navigated their way past a solid Bosnia and Herzegovina outfit, despite being reduced to ten men.

Belgium looked dead and buried against Senegal before mounting an unlikely comeback in the final ten minutes. Rudi Garcia's side were fairly clueless going forward, but a change of system and personnel sparked some much-needed energy and creativity. The USMNT defence will have to find a way to cope with the physicality of Romelu Lukaku, who, despite lacking pace, was pivotal in the Red Devils' comeback.

Belgium have made it through to the Round of 16 without looking convincing at any stage. This may be a step too far, although they may force extra time and potentially penalties.

🗸 Long Shot: USA 1-1 Belgium - Correct Score (+533)
🗸 Extra Tip: USA to Score the First Goal (-111)
