Southampton were saved from the ignominy of being the Premier League’s lowest ever point scorers last weekend, with a deserved draw against Manchester City. However, Saints don’t have it any easier here, as they take on Everton, in the final men’s game at Goodison Park. Elsewhere, relegated sides Leicester City and Ipswich Town face off, with both sides preparing for the Championship, while Nottingham Forest travel to West Ham United.
Everton vs Southampton – Everton to win
4/11 at Rhino Bet
David Moyes’s return to Everton has overseen a real transformation and their excellent win at Fulham last weekend was a clear indicator of how far the Toffees have come this term. They play their final game at Goodison Park here, in what should be a hugely emotional day for the club and all their supporters. Southampton are the visitors, with the Saints showing serious resolve last week to pick up a point against Manchester City and they will need to channel that industry here. Goodison Park has been synonymous with Everton since the club’s inception and while exciting times look to lie ahead for the club, this will be a celebratory afternoon and the Toffees should pick up a home win here, in what should be a carnival atmosphere, making them strong favourites with most punters and EPL betting sites.
Leicester City vs Ipswich Town – Leicester City to win
11/8 at Betzone
Ruud van Nistelrooy’s future at Leicester City feels very precarious but the Dutchman will be desperate to end the campaign on a high at home here against Ipswich Town. Leicester have been way off the pace this season and can expect a summer of change, with Jamie Vardy having announced he will be leaving the club. Fellow relegated side Ipswich Town are the visitors here, with the Tractor Boys having gone off the rails during the second half of the campaign. Neither side is brimming with confidence, but Leicester have picked up some good results against fellow relegated sides this term and home advantage could propel them over the line in this one.
West Ham United vs Nottingham Forest – Draw
5/2 at Rhino Bet
Graham Potter has endured a tough few months in charge of West Ham but a very good win at Old Trafford against Manchester United last week, could prove to be confidence building for the Hammers. Next up is faltering Nottingham Forest, who have seen their Champions League bid struggle in recent weeks and the Tricky Trees are now in a real battle to be playing Europa League football next term. With West Ham seemingly on an upward curve, the end of the season couldn’t come at a worse time for the Irons, while Forest look to be clinging on to all the points they have amassed. This will be a good game, which could end up as an entertaining draw in East London.
