The mastermind of Antonio Conte came good once again in Serie A last season, as he pieced together a Napoli side to their 2nd league title in three years.

Inevitably, Naples and their patrons were all too happy to jump on board the Conte bandwagon and the south of Italy expects once again this year, both in Serie A and in the Champions League.

Elsewhere, it was a campaign of relative struggle for the likes of Juventus, AC Milan and Roma, while Inter Milan will lament dropped points at the end of the season, which ultimately handed Napoli the title.

A run to the Champions League final ended in defeat for Inter but there are signs of encouragement at the San Siro, even if manager Simone Inzaghi has been lured to Saudi Arabia.

As ever, the biggest and best online football betting sites are lining up to set up the Serie A odds ahead of the new season, with plenty of sides in the mix for the title once more.

Down at the bottom of the table, promoted sides Pisa, Sassuolo and Cremonese will be amongst the favourites to drop straight back into Serie B but plenty of other sides will be looking over their shoulder too.

Seldom does a Serie A season disappoint and with 380 games to be played, seemingly anything can happen – for all 20 teams involved, played against the backdrop of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on the horizon too.

Serie A – Outright Winners – The Favourites

The arrival of Antonio Conte hinted at success from the second he landed in Napoli, and he managed to see his side over the line, as they clinched the Serie A title for the second time in three seasons.

Discipline and structure is key to the Conte model, and he created the classic siege mentality in Naples which worked perfectly in the key moments of the campaign.

Scott McTominay was central to their success as the engine in midfield and with creative maestro Kevin de Bruyne joining him in the middle of the park, Napoli look better equipped than ever before.

Other significant acquisitions include Noa Lang from PSV and Sam Beukema from Bologna, and the Dutch duo should add a serious amount of strength in depth in key areas.

While it was Napoli who took the headlines last term, Inter Milan were left to rue a campaign of what might have been.

Simone Inzaghi’s side were in contention to win the treble but came up short in every competition, ending the season trophyless and Inzaghi set sail soon after to join Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia.

Club icon Christian Chivu is the new man in charge, and the Romanian will be under pressure to hit the ground running this term.

With Inzaghi’s experienced squad coming up short, Chivu has seemingly targeted youthful talents and the likes of Luis Henrique, Ange-Yoan Bonny and Petar Sucic will need time to bed in to the cut and thrust of Serie A.

2025/26 Serie A Odds – Outright Winner

Napoli – 15/8

Inter Milan – 3/1

Serie A – Outright Winners – Outsiders

All eyes may well fall upon the likes of Napoli and Inter Milan at the top of the market but there is a very open feeling to the Serie A table this season.

Croatian Igor Tudor is at the helm at Juventus, and they are another side undertaking a serious squad overhaul this term.

Over 120 million euros has been shelled out by the side from Turin, but it could be the signing of Canadian striker Jonathan David on a free transfer from Lille that proves to be the most influential.

It was a season to forget for AC Milan last year too, who finished languishing down in 9th, but they look rejuvenated under the stewardship of Massimiliano Allegri – a master tactician in Serie A.

The loss of Tijani Reijnders does feel significant but with the likes of Ardon Jashari and Pervis Estupinian arriving, things are looking up on the red and black side of the San Siro.

Capital sides AS Roma and Lazio should also have their say in the title race too, as will the great entertainers Atalanta, with the race to finish inside the Champions League places sure to intensify as the season goes on.

Juventus – 11/2

AC Milan – 6/1

AS Roma – 10/1

Atalanta – 20/1

Lazio – 33/1

Entertainment is never far away in Serie A, with plenty of goals out there to be scored and some of the sharpest strikers in Europe on the scene.

Lautaro Martinez remains the key man for Inter Milan and the Argentine should be as enigmatic as ever this term.

Moises Kean impressed at Fiorentina last year, while the aforementioned Jonathan David could be the man that brings about a return of success for Juventus.

Other names sure to be in the mix are Marcus Thuram, Ademola Lookman and Dusan Vlahovic – three men well versed in the rigours of Serie A football and putting the ball in the back of the net.

Serie A – Relegation

Avoiding relegation from Serie A is never easy and for the likes of Sassuolo, Pisa and Cremonese, stepping up from Serie B will not be easy.

However, all three sides showed real quality in the second tier last term, and they will be desperate to channel that form and confidence moving into this season.

Elsewhere, the likes of Empoli, Udinese and Cagliari were battling it out just above the relegation places until the final few weeks of the campaign – something they will be eager to avoid this time around.

Similarly, Lecce and Verona were also in the relegation picture for long periods of the 2024/25 campaign and getting off to a fast start will be key for them too.
