As one of the flagship events of the British summer, Wimbledon always captures the imagination of the general public, and the stage looks set once more in 2025.

Long standing traditions of the green grass, all-white clothing and strawberries and cream will come to the fore for the next fortnight, ahead of finals weekend on July 12th and 13th.

A real ‘top two’ is emerging in the men’s game, with defending champion Carlos Alcaraz and world number one Jannik Sinner sure to have plenty of eyes on them in south-west London over the coming weeks.

Similarly, there are three headline names at the top of the women’s game in Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff and Iga Swiatek and while they have 10 Grand Slam titles between them, none of them have tasted Wimbledon singles glory.

All four major tournaments on the calendar generate plenty of traction with the best tennis betting sites from punters and thrills and spills are always guaranteed at the All-England club.

Men’s Singles – The Favourites

There is an obvious chasm forming between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz at the top of the men’s game and the rest of the chasing pack.

With Novak Djokovic in the twilight of his career and following the inevitable end to two of the most decorated players in tennis history in Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, there were some fears as to who would carry the mantle moving forwards.

However, the burgeoning rivalry between Sinner and Alcaraz at the sharp end of the men’s game is already making for compelling viewing.

Between them, the pair have won the last 6 Grand Slam titles on offer (3 each) and their French Open final earlier this year was monumental.

Most tennis betting sites can’t see past Jannik Sinner or Carlos Alcaraz for Wimbledon glory in 2025, with Sinner chasing his first title at SW19, while Alcaraz is looking to win his 3rd Wimbledon on the spin.

2025 Wimbledon Odds – Men’s Singles – Outright Winner

Carlos Alcaraz – 13/8

Jannik Sinner – 7/4

Men’s Singles – Ones to Watch

Away from the dominance of Sinner and Alcaraz, 7-time Wimbledon winner Novak Djokovic perhaps looks best placed to have his say.

The Serb has struggled with injury and form in 2025, but he will be on the receiving end of some big court billings at Wimbledon this year, with some lingering question marks about how much longer he has left in the game.

While Djokovic has been there and done it at Wimbledon, British hope Jack Draper is seeded 4th in his home Grand Slam and there is plenty of momentum gathering around the Londoner.

He has enjoyed his most consistent season the ATP Tour to date, and he can mix it with the big boys, especially on the quick grass courts.

Beyond that, the likes of Taylor Fritz, Jiri Lehecka and Lorenzo Musetti all have grass court credentials, and they will be looking to force their way into contention, if any of the favourites slip up.

US Open finalist Fritz fell at the first hurdle at Queens last time out, but he has a game made for grass and he will be looking to build on his run to the quarter finals last year.

Czech youngster Jiri Lehecka is at the forefront of a new generation of players from the nation and he looks to have a bright future ahead of him, showcased by his impressive run to the finals at Queen’s last week and he is bang in form.

Italian Lorenzo Musetti has been one of the form operators in 2025, backing up his Wimbledon semi-final run in 2024, with a last 4 showing in 2025 and he too has the tools to trouble anyone in the draw.

2025 Wimbledon Odds – Men’s Singles – Outright Winner

Novak Djokovic – 5/1

Jack Draper – 8/1

Alexander Zverev – 20/1

Taylor Fritz – 25/1

Lorenzo Musetti – 33/1

Jiri Lehecka – 50/1

Women’s Singles – The Favourites

It is a similar tale on the WTA Tour, as world number one Aryna Sabalenka looks to assert her dominance over the chasing pack.

2025 has seen Sabalenka become more consistent than ever before but defeats in the Australian Open final (to Madison Keys) and French Open final (to Coco Gauff), are sure to have plagued her.

She arrives at Wimbledon as the player to beat but there are a few lingering questions about her grass court compatibility, having never gone past the semi-finals at SW19.

Coco Gauff picked up the second major title of her fledgling career at Roland Garros this month and confidence should be high in her camp.

Wimbledon was the scene of her emergence back in 2019 and she too should have the game to go well on the speedy grass courts at the All-England club.

One player who has never gelled with the grass is Iga Swiatek, with the Pole much more accustomed to the grind on the clay.

However, writing Swiatek off completely is never wise and the 5-time Grand Slam winner will be desperate to add a Wimbledon title to her collection this year.

2025 Wimbledon Odds – Women’s Singles – Outright Winner

Aryna Sabalenka – 11/4

Coco Gauff – 6/1

Iga Swiatek – 8/1

Women’s Singles – Ones to Watch

With Serena Williams the last woman to retain her Wimbledon title back in 2016, it has been one of the most open decades in the history of the women’s game at the All-England club.

Defending champion Barbora Krejcikova won the title from 31st seed last year, a statistic that will give hope to all 128 players in the women’s draw.

2022 champion Elena Rybakina has dropped out of the world’s top 10 in recent months, but she remains a grass court specialist, and she will fancy her chances of lifting the trophy again.

Last year’s runner up Jasmine Paolini has been in great nick throughout 2025 and she should have plenty of draw protection from fourth seed over Wimbledon fortnight.

Two young Russian talents in Mirra Andreeva and Diana Shnaider look to be incumbents to the throne in women’s tennis, and both could have a break out tournament at Wimbledon this year.

Elsewhere, home hopes will be lying with the mercurial Emma Raducanu once more, while American duo Madison Keys and Emma Navarro will also be harbouring hopes of tasting Wimbledon glory.

2025 Wimbledon Odds – Women’s Singles – Outright Winner

Elena Rybakina – 5/1

Mirra Andreeva – 10/1

Madison Keys – 16/1

Jasmine Paolini – 25/1

Emma Raducanu – 33/1

Emma Navarro – 50/1

Diana Shnaider – 60/1

Barbora Krejcikova – 80/1
