Germany vs Portugal Analysis

Germany

Germany have already enjoyed plenty of backing on football betting sites ahead of their high-profile tussle with Portugal and Die Mannschaft will be determined to harness home advantage at the Allianz Arena in Munich to full effect.

The Germans overcame Italy in the quarter-finals, netting five times in their aggregate win over the Azzurri (5-4), while six of their eight matches in the latest edition of the Nations League have featured over 2.5 goals.

The absence of some key players could hamper Germany’s chances however with several of their best performers from their quarter-final triumph over the Italians currently sidelined.

Team news: Antonio Rüdiger, Jamal Musiala, Tim Kleindienst and Kai Havertz are all missing for Germany.

Predicted Lineup: Baumann, Kimmich, Anton, Tah, Mittelstädt, Groß, Goretzka, Sane, Wirtz, Gnabry, Fullkrug

Portugal

Portugal needed extra time to see off Denmark in a dramatic Nations League quarter-final double-header in March, though the Seleção’s extra firepower off the bench ultimately made the difference.

Head Coach Roberto Martinez eventually found the right solutions to topple the Danes and the Spaniard holds an impressive 71.43% win rate for Portugal since his appointment in January 2023.

Portugal have failed to win each of their last three away games in the Nations League (0-0 vs Scotland, 1-1 vs Croatia, 0-1 vs Denmark), so they will need to shake off their travel sickness to win in Germany.

Team news: Portugal have very few injury or selection concerns ahead of Wednesday’s Nations League semi-final clash with Germany.

Predicted Lineup: Costa, Dalot, Dias, Inacio, Mendes, Bruno Fernandes, Vitinha, Neves, Silva, Leao, Ronaldo

Germany vs Portugal Prediction

Portugal can field a Champions League-winning midfield with PSG duo Vitinha and Joao Neves in Germany and with that pair pulling the strings, the visitors could have the edge in Munich over a German side missing several key components. Portugal have lost only one of their last eight matches in all competitions and they are an attractive prospect to avoid defeat in the double chance market here.

Prediction: Portugal double chance – 9/10 (-111) – 10bet

Spain vs France Best Odds

Spain 144/100 (+144) X 215/100 (+215) France 192/100 (+175)
Over 11/10 (+110) 2.5 Goals Under 7/10 (-143)
Yes 4/5 (-125) BTTS No 9/10 (-111)

Spain vs France Analysis

Spain

Spain are aiming to successfully defend their Nations League crown this summer having landed the title in 2023 and La Roja will kick off Thursday’s semi-final against France in Stuttgart as favourites to progress.

The Spaniards haven’t lost a competitive fixture since March 2023 and have won 15 and drawn two of their last 17 assignments over the past 12 months.

Spain came from behind to beat France 2-1 when the nations last met in the semi-finals of Euro 2024 a little over a year ago. The Spanish went on to win that tournament outright and they will be hoping that the story is similar in 2025.

Team news: Dani Carvajal, Pau Torres, Rodri and Ferran Torres are all missing for Spain.

Predicted Lineup: Simon, Mingueza, Le Normand, Huijsen, Cucurella, Zubimendi, Ruiz, Olmo, Yamal, Williams, Oyarzabal

France

France squeezed past a dogged Croatia outfit via penalty kicks in the quarter-finals and Les Bleus will have to raise their performance levels to stand any chance of dethroning Spain in Stuttgart.

Five members of the French squad were involved in PSG’s incredible 5-0 Champions League Final win over Inter last weekend, and it remains to be seen if any of those stars carry any emotional or physical hangovers into Thursday’s tie.

France have failed to win eight of their 14 Nations League fixtures since they beat Spain in the final to win the competition in October 2021.

Team news: Jules Koundé, Dayot Upamecano, William Saliba and Eduardo Camavinga are injured for France.

Predicted Lineup: Maignan, Pavard, Konate, Lenglet, Hernandez, Tchouameni, Rabiot, Dembele, Olise, Doue, Mbappe

Spain vs France Prediction

Thursday’s Nations League semi-final between Spain and France will feature some of Europe’s most devastating attacking players and with stars like Lamine Yamal, Ousmane Dembele and Kylian Mbappe sharing the pitch, we expect to see goalmouth action at both ends. BTTS bettors would have been rewarded in each of the last two encounters between Spain and France, and a similar outcome could be worth backing on Thursday.

Prediction: Both teams to score – 4/5 (-125) – 10bet
