The battle to finish in the Champions League spots comes to the fore this weekend, with 5 sides in the mix for the final three spots. Manchester City, Newcastle United and Chelsea currently hold the keys for the top 5 but Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest won’t give up without a fight. Elsewhere, Europa League winners Tottenham host Brighton, while West Ham will be looking to finish the campaign strongly at relegated Ipswich Town.
Newcastle United vs Everton – Newcastle United to win
5/14 at Rhino Bet
Champions League football beckons for Newcastle United, who have been hugely impressive in the Premier League this season and who look ready to kick on again next term. A win here against David Moyes’s Everton would see Toon playing Champions League football for the second time in three seasons and with a Carabao Cup in the bag this term too, it has been an impressive season for the Magpies. Everton won’t be in the North East to make the numbers up, but they haven’t been operating too consistently on the road of late and they don’t have anything to play for. Newcastle will be expectant in this one and United should justify their position as favourites with most punters and EPL betting sites.
Ipswich Town vs West Ham United – West Ham United to win
6/5 at Betzone
The second half of the season has been tough for Ipswich Town, who have slid quietly back into the Championship and a summer rebuild awaits. They finish their Premier League campaign against West Ham, another side that have underwhelmed throughout this season. For the Tractor Boys, the cut and thrust of the Premier League proved too much and they have been conceding far too many goals this term, especially at home. West Ham meanwhile are showing a few glimmers of improvement under Graham Potter, and they will want to end the season on a high. Neither side has anything to play for, something that should suit West Ham and the Hammers look good value in this one.
Tottenham vs Brighton – Draw
16/5 at Rhino Bet
Europa League winners Tottenham will be bringing the trophy back to North London here and there should be a party atmosphere for the visit of Brighton. The future of Ange Postecoglou at Spurs feels precarious but the Aussie maverick can boast another trophy to his impressive collection this term. Brighton come into this one off the back of a very good win over Liverpool last time out and they remain in the mix for European football next season. Both sides carry plenty of goals and this could be a memorable one at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
