Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 29/04

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

We kick off a new racing week with five events across the UK and Ireland at Ayr, Southwell, Windsor, Wolverhampton and Naas on Monday, and with another packed race card to peruse, we’re determined to land our readers some more profit. Yesterday, two of our three selections placed including Quandary at a big price of 12/1 at Southwell, however, we’re targeting winners today and to that end, you can check out our latest horse racing betting tips below.

Best Tip #1:  Hatadora – Windsor, 19:39

Hatadora raced at Windsor just seven days ago over a slightly shorter trip and went close to winning on her turf debut before finishing second behind Theworldisnotenough.

That solid first attempt in a C&D handicap could be followed up with something better today and Richard Hannon’s filly should be a leading player. The 3-year-old is also 1lb lighter in the ratings, which should help her cause.

Elsewhere, Calm Waters is shaping up like another attractive prospect on horse racing betting sites.

The 3-year-old drops down a couple of grades today for his new stable and the booking of prominent jockey Oisin Murphy could be significant. Venus Slipper has been exceeding market expectations so far this year and might be a solid each-way prospect again.

Best Tip #2: Cloud King – Southwell, 14:00

Cloud King was heavily backed on his handicap debut last month and shook off a tricky start to win with a swagger over 5f at Southwell.

He returns to the scene of that success today and though he is up a meaty 15lb in the rankings, he is shaping up like a menacing contender in the sprinting space. A follow-up win over another short trip in a higher grade could be in the pipeline here.

The stiffest competition could arrive in the form of Be Here Now. The 3-year-old scored at Newcastle and Southwell on his last two outings and is chasing a hattrick today.

There is a slight 3lb increase to factor in, though that isn’t weighty enough to do much damage. The rest of the field looks wishy-washy, so stick to Cloud King and Be Here Now in this one.

Best Roughie: Numidia – Naas, 20:20

Numidia returned from a seven-month break at Dundalk on April 12th and performed well to finish second from a field of 14 over 1m 3f. The 6-year-old competes at 1m today, but has won at that distance before.

That victory was his only triumph in 30 attempts, though he is likely to be thereabouts again against some uncertain opponents. Numidia is worth a market check on the best betting apps before prices start to narrow.

Summer Snow could be the one to beat in the final race of the day at Naas, however. He scored comfortably at Gowran Park just five days ago on what was his bow for a new yard.

There is a 7lb increase to bear today, however, with Colin Keane still in the saddle, his credentials are there. Master Garvey won at Naas in March and could also be involved.

Stats and Insights

  • The circuit at Windsor is laid out in a figure-of-eight shape and there are tight bends to whip around when tackling the flat setting. Jockey Clifford Lee is unbeaten at Windsor this season after two races while trainer KR Burke has lodged a couple of wins from three outings there so far.
  • The track at Southwell is on the tight side and we need our selections need to be among the front runners throughout to succeed there. Trainer Ruth Carr has enjoyed seven wins from 35 efforts at Southwell this term, while competitor Tony Carroll has seven wins from 48 races there so far.
  • Naas is a setting for the gallopers and there is a four-furlong straight with a testing uphill final surge to get up. As always, look to household names like Willie Mullins, Gavin Cromwell, Henry De Bromhead and Gordon Elliott when that quartet of trainers has runners at Naas.
