Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 25/04

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Meetings at Beverley, Chelmsford, Huntington, Perth, Warwick and Wexford across the UK and Ireland complete our race card line-up on Thursday, and with numerous avenues to explore, we’re confident of success in the markets. Yesterday, our three selections delivered a placed horse and yet another winner thanks to Vince L’Amour’s triumph at Catterick. Check out our latest free horse racing betting tips below.

Best Tip #1:  Shadow Rider – Wexford, 18:52

Shadow Rider pulled up on each of his last three efforts in chases a couple of years ago, though his form coming into today’s race at Wexford is strong.

The 10-year-old won at Fairyhouse over 2m 5f in February and hit second place at Cork over a slightly shorter trip at the end of March in a Listed Hurdle Handicap. Shadow Rider should be good value with a 2lb lower chase rating today and has good credentials.

Elsewhere, R’evelyn Pleasure has been drawing attention on plenty of horse racing betting sites. Two successive wins over fences near the turn of the year were notable and his form has been solid since.

Moves back up in trip today, but only just, and the 12-year-old is shaping up as a likely contender.  Gordon Elliott’s Cavalry Master meanwhile, could be alternative with merit if he can complete the race.

Best Tip #2: Take No Chances – Warwick, 16:20

Take No Chances finished well to claim the runners-up spot at Newbury in a Class 3 Hurdle Handicap on March 22nd and she shaped up well enough on that outing to make her worthy of interest today.

A record of 3-1-2-2 from the last four races she’s finished is difficult to dismiss and though she runs off a 4lb higher mark today, Dan Skelton’s charge could take some beating.

Jonjo O’Neill’s Saint Davy is another horse open to progression. The 7-year-old has already lodged two wins this year at Sandown and Ludlow respectively, with the former secured in a Class 1 Grade 3 Hurdle Handicap race.

Saint Davy drops down a grade and up in distance today and should be thereabout. Former Warwick winner, Hyland, could also be involved despite a poor showing at Cheltenham (14th).

Best Roughie: Thanks Dad – Chelmsford, 18:30

Thanks Dad showed promise on his debut over C&D at this track on April 13th and pushed into third spot from a starting price of 80/1. He finished less than two lengths behind today’s rival, Miss Sunset Strip, and could have the mettle to go a couple better in their rematch at the same circuit.

The 4-year-old certainly has an attractive price to work with in the ante-post markets and is worth a tumble.

Miss Sunset Strip meanwhile, has finished second twice in a row at Chelmsford and should be right in the mix again here. She will run with cheekpieces on today and that could sharpen her chances.

Qatar Wave, whose dam is a four-time winner over 1m at Chelmsford, is an interesting debutant and the 3-year-old could be worth a market check on sports betting apps.

Stats and Insights

  • The track at Wexford has sharp bends to whip around and there is a furlong to gallop down on the run-in to the post. Trainers Gordon Elliott and Henry De Bromhead have both won five races at Wexford this season, while jockey Kieran Callaghan has a 50%-win rate at Wexford this term.
  • The circuit at Warwick is notoriously tight, so horses with greater agility can often be the ones to back there. Trainer Dan Skelton has won nine times from 56 entries at Warwick this season, while Emma Lavelle has a 36%-strike rate at the circuit so far.
  • Galloping types can often excel at Chelmsford with the wide-open bends and lengthy straights there allowing momentum to be built. Jockeys Jack Gilligan and Lewis Edmunds have been prolific at Chelmsford this season while trainer Richard Hughes has won with half of his horses at the racecourse this term.
