Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 06/04

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

We kick off the weekend with a quartet of meetings across the UK and Ireland at Chelmsford, Kempton, Uttoxeter and the Curragh on Saturday – as long as the weather holds – and as always, we’re determined to earn some profit for our readers. Keep reading to see our free expert horse racing betting tips for Saturday’s race cards.

Best Tip #1: Devoted Queen – Kempton, 3.45

Devoted Queen turned heads on her bow to win at Newmarket last autumn and should be right in the reckoning again on her return to action at Kempton.

The 3-year-old is fancied to pursue some big prizes in the future, so no doubt she’s been entered to win today by trainer Charlie Appleby. Prices are tight on sports betting apps, though she is undoubtedly the one to beat.

The biggest challenge is expected to come in the form of Les Bleus. With her stable expecting progression, the 3-year-old arrives at Kempton with a record of 1-3-4-3-3.

Most of those runs were in Class 1 or 2 events, so the calibre is there. Elsewhere, Ahlain arrives with two recent enough wins at Kempton and should be respected.

Best Tip #2: Stag Night – Curragh, 5.05

Stag Night scored at Cork over 5f on his last outing, narrowly beating today’s rival Two Stars to the post and with jockey Danny Power back in the saddle, a repeat performance against the same competitor could be in the works.

The 6-year-old has only races twice this year, though second and first place finishes point to potential and Stag Night is favoured to succeed again here.

Two Stars could run him close again, however. The low mileage 4-year-old has potential to untap and promises to be a leading contender against a familiar antagonist.

Laugh A Minute might also make his presence felt. He finished third behind Stag Night and Two Stars last month and could be stronger after that experience.

Best Roughie: Reverberation – Chelmsford, 2.50

Reverberation has been admirably consistent this year posting a record of 1-2-3-2-2 from his last five races for Ireland’s Stan Moore. Chelmsford has been a familiar and happy hunting ground for the 9-year-old, who should enjoy the trip and conditions again today.

He has crept up in the rankings, however, he is still taken to be firmly in the mix in the day’s first race at Chelmsford.

Mc’ted meanwhile, has received the most backing on horse racing betting sites in the ante-most markets. The 6-year-old won at Wolverhampton on April 2nd in a Class 6 Handicap and will compete over a similar distance today.

Frankfreya, who is another previous winner at Chelmsford could be another for shortlists.

Stats and Insights

  • Kempton ranks among the flatter courses in the UK and the run of the land there tends to suit sprinting types. Trainers Nicky Henderson (23%) and Harry Derham (33%) have strong win rates at Kempton so far this season.
  • Chelmsford is a track for galloping horses with the sweeping bends and straights offering space to race through. Jockey Jack Gilligan has won five of his nine races at Chelmsford this season while Lewis Edmunds has a 50% strike rate there.
  • Gallopers are also well suited to life at The Curragh and the taxing uphill finish there also asks for deep wells of stamina. In the last five years, jockey Colin Keane has won 77 races there while trainer AP O’Brien has had a massive 142 wins over the same period.
