Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 02/04

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Tuesday’s race card line up features meetings at Ludlow, Pontefract and Wolverhampton, giving punters ample opportunity to seek out more profit as we head towards the middle of the week. Yesterday, we had another successful run, landing two winners and a placed horse from our three selections. Ahead of another day of racing, we’ve picked out some more free horse racing betting tips below for your punting pleasure.

Best Tip #1: Easy Peasy – Ludlow, 2.30

Easy Peasy was beaten for the first time when finishing way back in 13th position at Cheltenham in a Class 1 Listed National Hunt Flat race in November, though she looked the part again in late January when she rebounded to win at Exeter on what was her hurdling debut.

If she can handle the slower ground at Ludlow today, she should be difficult to beat against a low-quality field.

Dan Skelton’s Get Sky High represents an alternative with merit. The 9-year-old has a record of 3-2-1-2-3 from her last five races, though they have been spread out since January 2021.

Get Sky High hasn’t been seen since November 2022, though market movement could be a guide and she is worth tracking on the best betting apps UK.

Best Tip #2: Vintage Clarets, Pontefract, 3.15

Richard Fahey’s Vintage Clarets landed third spot at Doncaster when last seen in October last year, though he managed to score twice in succession in Class 2 races at Catterick and York before that.

He will run off a career-high mark today, though he still catches the eye and is taken to get to the post first at Pontefract.

Elsewhere, Wen Moon could be another contender for shortlists. An average showing at Catterick in October (7th) was preceded by a record of 2-2-1 from three efforts at York and he might have a little more to offer as a 4-year-old.

Glorious Angel meanwhile, is a horse with Class 1 experience and carries the favourite tag.

Best Roughie: Smokey Malone, Wolverhampton, 7.30

Miss J Feilden’s Smokey Malone didn’t really do a whole lot wrong when finishing third at Southwell last time out and he has been running consistently well on AW over the last 12 months, posting a record of 2-1-3-1-3.

Both of his wins came at Southwell on a Tapeta surface and though the trip at Wolverhampton is longer today, the 6-year-old stands a chance.

Tamaris meanwhile, who runs out of James Owen’s stable for the first time, has been a popular choice on other horse racing betting sites. The 7-year-old has won twice at Wolverhampton before and a win at Kempton ahead of Baileys Warrior on January 27th should add to his confidence.

Kingston Sunflower is another runner with possibilities, provided she can be controlled better.

Stats and Insights

  • The track at Ludlow tends to suit the galloping types though some agility is needed to get around some testing undulations. Trainer Fergal O’Brien has posted eight wins at Ludlow this season while jockey Sam Twinston-Davies leads the way in that direction with seven victories from 40 races.
  • There is a steep inclined finish of around three furlongs to climb at Pontefract, so plenty of stamina is needed to power home. Consistency has been hard to come by at Pontefract this term, though jockey Rossa Ryan has a 36%-win rate there from 14 races.
  • Wolverhampton is built on a Tapeta surface which ensures that the circuit is flat and fair, with little draw bias to consider. Trainers Mark Loughnane and Tony Carroll have both won nine races at Wolverhampton this season while that man, Rossa Ryan, is the top jockey at the track this term with 25 wins.
