Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 07/05

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Tuesday’s race card line-up features meetings across the UK and Ireland at Fakenham, Ffos Las, Hereford, Southwell, Ballinrobe and Navan, offering punters plenty of exciting avenues to explore in the markets. Yesterday, one of our three tips placed while another returned a winner thanks to Andromedas Kingdom’s success at Bath. Keep reading to discover our latest horse racing betting tips below.

Best Tip #1:  Uncanny – Navan, 15:35

Uncanny turned heads on her debut at The Curragh in April when she came up quickly near the end to land second spot behind a runaway winner. With some improvement today, she can score in the Racing Again May 18th Fillies Maiden at Navan.

The distance of 1m should suit, as should the yielding to soft conditions and the 4-year-old is taken to deliver for Aidan O’Brien.

Elsewhere, Concluding Call is also shaping up as a possible contender on horse racing betting sites. She looked solid enough to finish fourth on her true debut at The Curragh and hit third and fourth in successive races on Polytrack in Dundalk before that.

Quantum Light has each-way possibilities from the rest of an uninspiring field.

Best Tip #2: Zenta – Ballinrobe, 19:20

Zenta is a former Grade 1 winning hurdler who should be tough to beat on what will be only her second outing over fences today. Willie Mullins’ charge looked the part when running to seventh in the Country Hurdle at Cheltenham on March 15th and today should be an easier challenge to overcome.

The former French-trained filly is already odds-on favourite here, so make sure to check in early to avoid being priced out.

Magnor Glory is a four-time hurdle winner with more potential to release and could make an impact on his chasing debut at Ballinrobe. The 8-year-old hasn’t been seen since a disappointing showing at Bellewstown in July last year, so it will be interesting to see if he can blow off the cobwebs.

Gordon Elliott’s Mel Monroe could be another for shortlist if previous form can be recaptured.

Best Roughie: Orbys River – Southwell, 19:12

ORBYS RIVER has shown improvement of late and two second-placed finishes inside her last three outings could set her up to score at Southwell this evening. The 6-year-old was runner up at Uttoxeter over a distance of 2m on April 6th and the drop back in trip today could make a difference.

She runs off the same mark today and if she proves she can excel on good conditions, she could be a big-price player.

Nicky Henderson’s Therapist has been getting the most backing on the best betting apps in the ante-post shuffle.

A previous flat race winner, the 4-year-old has enjoyed some useful tests over hurdles and she finished fourth at Hereford when last seen in February. She drops down a grade today and should be in the mix as a result.

Stats and Insights

  • There is a testing three-and-a-half-furlong finish to gallop down at Navan and late drama can occur there as a result. The new season has only just begun at Navan, though jockey Ryan Moore has already lodged two wins from four races at the track.
  • A back straight is followed quickly by a downhill final flourish at Ballinrobe and if horses can get away towards the end, they can be difficult to rein in. Willie Mullins has more wins (seven) than any other trainer at Ballinrobe this season with PJ Rothwell and Gordon Elliott just behind (six each).
  • The run-in at Southwell is on the short side, so we like our tips to be involved near the front when the post comes into view. Trainer Charlie Johnson has collected an impressive eight wins from 33 races at Southwell this season while jockey Jason Hart’s 13 victories there is unmatched so far this term.
