Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 06/05

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Monday’s Bank Holiday line-up features a jam-packed race card schedule and with meetings across the UK and Ireland at Bath, Beverley, Kempton, Warwick, Windsor, the Curragh and Down Royal to dig through, there should be plenty of profit to unearth. View our latest expert horse racing betting tips for the day’s action below.

Best Tip #1:  Samuel Colt – Curragh, 14:25

Aidan O’Brien’s charge, Samuel Colt, shaped up well to finish second in a Group 3 race at Leopardstown last month and should enjoy what is a potentially easier challenge at the Curragh today over 1m.

The 3-year-old won on his last visit to the Greenlands in a 6f Maiden last October and could take some stopping on his return to the same venue.

Elsewhere, Norwalk Havoc could be an alternative to consider online horse racing betting outlets. He’s been gelded since he was last seen at the Curragh almost a year ago and in two appearances in 2024, Norwalk Havoc managed to win twice, scoring at Leopardstown and Gowran Park respectively.

Ecureuil Secret won with a bit of a swagger at Leopardstown last month and could also be in the mix.

Best Tip #2: Andromedas Kingdom- Bath, 17:45

Fresh from winning at Bath over the same trip just eight days ago, trainer Michael Appleby’s Andromedas Kingdom should be the one to set the standard again in that last race of the day on Lansdown Hill.

The 6-year-old has won on two of her last three starts overall and though there is a 5lb penalty to consider today, she is taken to maintain her streak.

The versatile Moon Over The Sea has produced solid enough form since January and has been doing some good work on AW at Wolverhampton (1-3-3-2). That form is good enough to make him a contender, while he is also a former winner over this distance and track.

Sao Timothy could come into the frame as an each-way possibility if things go his way.

Best Roughie: Favori Logique – Down Royal, 15:55

Favori Logique finished in a noteworthy third place over a 3m 4f trip at Leopardstown on March 3rd in a good Chase Handicap showing on heavy ground and with some previous wins to look back on, the 9-year-old could have credentials to threaten from a big price in today’s Club Mixers Handicap Chase at Down Royal. Positioned near the bottom of the handicap, circumstances appeal here.

Emmet Mullins’s Sweet Will has been drawing the most interest on the best betting apps in the ante-post movement, however. He finished third at Tramore last month with headgear on and while his form was patchy and unpredictable before that, there is potential to release.

Elsewhere, Shantou Show runs off a decent mark and the former dual point winner could be thereabouts.

Stats and Insights

  • There is a testing uphill challenge to conquer towards the post at The Curragh, while the overall layout of the track there generally asks questions of a horse’s stamina. Jockey Colin Keane has three wins from 16 races at The Curragh this term, though the season there is still in its infancy.
  • The track at Bath is a fair setting overall, though the long straight towards the finish can favour the gallopers. We’ve just entered the new season at Bath, though trainer Rod Millman has already claimed three victories from nine efforts there. Michael Appleby sits on two wins from four races so far.
  • Square in shape and marked by stiff turns, Down Royal suits stayers while the final gallop to the line can give the stronger gallopers an edge. Gordon Elliott has been by far the most dominant trainer at Bath this season and the course specialist has lodged a remarkable 20 wins from 69 races there so far this term.
