The US Open gets underway this Sunday, with 15 days of tennis action in New York as the year’s final Grand Slam plays out. We breakdown all there is to know in our betting preview, including a look at the latest odds from the best tennis betting sites, as well as predictions and expert tips for both the men’s and women’s events.

Men’s US Open Betting Preview

There are two big names to watch heading into the men’s US Open: Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. The pair – currently ranked one and two in the world – have won the last seven majors between them, and show no sign of letting up.

The likes of Novak Djokovic, Alexander Zverev, Jack Draper, Ben Shelton and Taylor Fritz will all fancy their chances as well. As betting markets show, however, there’s a sizable gulf between the top two contenders and the rest of the field.

2025 US Open Odds – Men’s Singles

Jannik Sinner – 1/1
Carlos Alcaraz – 6/4
Novak Djokovic – 12/1
Jack Draper 18/1
Alexander Zverev – 18/1
Ben Shelton – 20/1
Taylor Fritz – 25/1

Men’s US Open Prediction

Alcaraz has made seven finals in a row, dating back to May 2025. However, we’re tipping that the Spaniard’s record run will come to an end in New York, with the 22-year-old getting upset before the final weekend.

Instead, we expect that Djokovic will make the final from the bottom of the draw, taking on Sinner for the title. While fans of the 24-time champion would love to see him exact his revenge on the Italian for five-straight losses, the chances of this happening are slim to none.

Back Sinner to defend his US Open title, winning his third major of the season and confirming his spot as world No 1 in the process.

The Best Bets on the Men’s US Open 2025

Sinner to win @ 1/1
Djokovic to make the final @ 7/1
Shelton to win quarter four @ 5/1

We predict that New York will be where Shelton establishes himself as a genuine contender at the top of the game. The young American has already made deep runs at Grand Slams, making the final four here two years ago, and in Melbourne earlier this season. He’s in brilliant form and high on confidence after bagging a maiden Masters 1000 title in Canada.

Shelton making a strong run opens up the door for all three of the above bets. It’s our prediction that Shelton will take out Alcaraz in the quarter-finals, winning quarter four. However, the 22-year-old backing that up against Djokovic in the semis is a different kettle of fish. Expect him to fall, putting Djokovic through to the final.

Given Djokovic’s track record in 2025, picking him through to the final despite no warm up events is perfectly conceivable. What isn’t, however, is him beating Sinner, given how one-sided their head-to-head has been the past two years.

Women’s US Open Betting Preview

The women’s US Open is a fascinating prospect, with any number of players capable of taking out the title. Aryna Sabalenka is the traditional favourite, but comes to New York with less than desirable form and zero Grand Slams this season despite sitting atop of the rankings.

Instead, it’s Iga Swiatek who will be many bookies’ favourite, with the Pole in searing form since mid-year. Nipping at the heels of Swiatek and Sabalenka are the likes of Coco Gauff, Elena Rybakina and Naomi Osaka, who have all hoisted major trophies previously, as well as young Mirra Andreeva and Victoria Mboko.

Don’t write off home hope Jessica Pegula and Madison Keys either, or rising star Amanda Anisimova.

2025 US Open Odds – Women’s Singles

Iga Swiatek – 5/2
Aryna Sabalenka – 11/4
Coco Gauff – 7/1
Mirra Andreeva – 9/1
Elena Rybakina – 10/1
Naomi Osaka – 16/1
Victoria Mboko – 16/1
Madison Keys – 16/1

Women’s US Open Prediction

This year’s women’s US Open prediction is a fascinating one, as for the first time in several editions there isn’t a head-and-shoulders favourite.

A strong case can be made for Swiatek, given she won Wimbledon and backed that up with a title run in Cincinnati. However, it wasn’t that long ago she was floundering on her favourite surface of clay, so picking her to win a hard court major still feels like a bit of a reach.

Both Gauff and Sabalenka are more than capable of winning in New York, having done so in recent years. However, there’s a lack of consistency from both in 2025, making these bets feel uncomfortable.

On the balance of probability, we’re sitting in Swiatek’s corner, considering how much of a front runner she is. The Pole knows how to ride a purple patch, and that’s exactly what we’re picking her to do here, powering through the draw and taking out Sabalenka in the final.

The Best Bets on the Women’s US Open 2025

Swiatek to win @ 5/2
Andreeva to make the final @ 5/1
Rybakina to win @ 10/1

Bottom line, the only bet we feel confident backing is Swiatek to take out the title. However, for those hunting a little extra value, we like punts on Andreeva making the final or Rybakina winning as well.

Both of these angles feel overpriced by tennis betting sites. Andreeva has a clean run through to the semi-finals, drawn in a quarter alongside Pegula. Sure, she has scant hardcourt form this North American swing, but give her a few rounds and she should be back in the flow of things. Her likely semi-final opponent is Sabalenka, who she’s beaten on the biggest stage before, prevailing in the Indian Wells final earlier this year.

For Rybakina, this is more of a shot-in-the-dark punt on the Kazakh’s potential. She has an immensely high ceiling with her booming serve and flat hitting. When it all comes together, she’s virtually unstoppable. With odds of 10/1, it’s a bet that’s hard to turn down, particularly given the shakiness of the field this year.
