Bet-at-Home Strengths and Weaknesses

Unfortunately, we are yet to discover the perfect online sportsbook and I doubt we will ever achieve this goal. Nevertheless, there are a number of UK betting sites which offer several positives and we’ve compiled a list of the various strengths and weaknesses of each bookmaker. Here, we take a look at the pros and cons of signing up for an account with Bet-at-Home.

✔️ Bet-at-Home Strengths

  • Hundreds of live betting opportunities on a daily basis – If you enjoy betting on in-play live betting events, then Bet-at-Home has plenty of opportunities to place wagers on ongoing fixtures. The live betting markets are available across a variety of sports including tennis, darts, baseball, ice hockey and basketball. In addition, there is a calendar which enables punters to map out their in-play bets and there is a section for combi bets which allows UK bettors to create an in-play accumulator.
  • Statistics, form tables and key information for betting – Whether you’re placing a pre-match or in-play bet, you’ll want to ensure that you have checked all of the statistics and made sure that you have all of the recent form. Whether you’re betting on the next team to score or thinking of betting on second half goals, you’ll want to ensure that your bets are fully justified. Luckily, Bet-at-Home UK have a dedicated stats section of their site which offers comprehensive and regularly updated information.
  • User-friendly and simplistic interface – Sometimes, bookmakers have the tendency to overcomplicate matters. New betting sites often think that adding extra information and flashing images makes their betting app and sportsbook far more appealing. However, sometimes UK punters prefer to keep it simple. Bet-at-Home’s unfussy design makes it simple to navigate and it is ideal for both newcomers and experienced bettors.
  • E-Sports betting markets – eSports has risen in popularity over the last few years and Bet-at-Home has responded to this growing trend. They offer markets on all major tournaments and there’s also in-play markets available on a daily basis. They offer far more eSports markets than the majority of rival betting apps and online bookmakers.

❌ Bet-at Home Weaknesses

  • No horse racing betting available – Although Bet-at-Home sportsbook offer markets on 25+ different sports, they do not currently have any odds on UK or Irish horse racing. With festivals and prestigious events such as Cheltenham and Royal Ascot proving exceptionally popular with UK punters, it’s a shame that they do not have any markets priced up.
  • No promotions for new or existing players – When it first entered in the UK market, Bet-at-Home sports offered a generous welcome bonus, however, sadly, this has been removed and here at MansionBet UK, we were disappointed to see that they offered very few promotions. The ‘Promotions’ page simply displayed a list of recent winners, which is encouraging, however, UK punters would surely prefer the occasional free bet.
  • Does not accept PayPal transactions – Although Bet-at-Home does offer e-wallets transactions, they have yet to add PayPal to their list of deposit methods. PayPal is a popular way of paying for online transactions and it’s a shame to see this missed off the list.

Conclusion

Overall, Bet-at-Home is a bit of a mixed bag. The in-play live betting section is hugely impressive and if you fancy a wager on an ongoing event, then this online sportsbook is one of the standout operators. However, their lack of bonus and horse racing markets are unlikely to help attract the majority of UK punters.

Bet-at-Home Full Review

Prior to starting my Bet-at-home review, I’d heard mixed reports at this online bookmaker. Having signed up for an account and spent a couple of weeks wagering with Bet-at-Home, I can completely understand why they may have divided UK punters.

First and foremost, unlike many of their rival betting sites, Bet-at-Home do not offer a welcome bonus. If you sign up for an account, you will not receive any additional funds and there are very few ongoing promotions for existing players. This was arguably one of the most disappointing aspects, especially considering that they had previously offered an incentive.

Secondly, as a horse racing fan, I was disappointed by the lack of coverage. Even non-horse racing fans enjoy the occasion bet on major festivals such as Cheltenham and Aintree and it’s a shame that they cannot offer these punters the chance to bet on key races.

Thirdly, their desktop site and mobile app is incredibly basic. I wasn’t too disappointed by this, as its simplicity enabled me to place bets quickly and efficiently and I wasn’t bogged down by flashing images and advertisements for promotions. However, this isn’t for everyone.

However, I did enjoy the vast range of football markets and their superb live betting page. With tennis, basketball, baseball, darts and snooker all available for live in-play betting, there is always something to enjoy. I also enjoyed the fact that I was able to place various combi and multi bets across various sporting events. I found this was particularly handy when several games were kicking off simultaneously.

Although, I was sceptical at first, I found that the statistics section of the Bet-at-Home site was extremely handy. With the ability to find stats on goals, head-to-head, possession and much more, I found that I was able to improve and align my betting after crunching the numbers and using their statistics page to compare and contrast various teams.

Although there are some features that you’d expect such as Cash Out, I found that Bet-at-Home was lacking additional features such as Bet Boosts, Build a Bet and Live Streaming.

The range of payment methods was solid enough and I was able to deposit using VISA debit, however, they could do with adding PayPal to the list as this is likely to deter some UK punters.

One area in which Bet-at-Home excel is their customer support. Their live chat function is smart and quick and I found the operatives to be friendly and helpful throughout.

Although I enjoyed betting with Bet-at-Home for a couple of weeks, it isn’t an online bookmaker that I would be happy to use on a regular basis. They do the basics extremely well, however, there are too many missing facets to their site, and I would prefer to use an online bookmaker which offers horse racing betting and accepts payments via PayPal.

Is Bet-at-Home legal in the UK?

Bet-at-Home sportsbook began operating in the UK back in 2014 and is fully licensed and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission. This is reassuring for UK punters who are considering signing up for an account. The UKGC oversee all of the bookmaker’s operations and they carry out regular checks to help ensure that Bet-at-Home are sticking to their promises and operating a fair play policy.

Bet-at-Home’s Welcome Package 🎁

The majority of online bookmakers and betting apps will offer a welcome bonus to all new UK players, this is a terrific incentive to sign up and begin placing bets on a variety of sporting events. Sadly, this is not the case with Bet-at-Home. They do no currently offer a welcome bonus and there are also very few ongoing promotions for existing players.

    Bet-at-Home’s Best Sports Features

When it comes to choosing which online bookmaker to sign up for, the number of features is a significant consideration for UK punters. Although you may not intend on using every single one of these features, it is important to know that your chosen betting site gives you the opportunity to enjoy these additional aspects.

    Bet-at-Home’s Cash Out

There is nothing more frustrating than being in a winning position before falling victim to last-gasp winner. Fortunes can change quickly when it comes to live sport, so it’s always good to know that you can collect your winnings early. Cash Out allows you to take a portion of your profit at any stage and if you’re starting to worry about a sudden shift in momentum or you just don’t think your chosen team/player can maintain their level of performance, then this is an excellent way to ensure that you can watch the remainder of the contest in a relatively relaxed state. You can find the value of your cash out by clicking on your betting slip at any point.

    Bet-at-Home’s Live Betting

When it comes to live betting Bet-at-Home really stands head and shoulder above its rivals. Not only do they offer copious markets on thousands of sporting events, they also have a schedule which enables UK punters to plan their upcoming wagers. They also have tools to put together a quick combination bet, including hot picks, cold picks and crazy picks, the latter randomly selects some big-priced selections to add to your betting slip. There are various types of bet that you can enjoy and there are always plenty of live betting to pick from. If you’re planning on watch a live sporting event, Bet-at-Home’s live betting page provides the perfect accompaniment.

    Bet-at-Home’s Statistics and Blog

If you’re planning on placing a bet (pre-match or live), then you’ll want to ensure that you have the correct information before taking the plunge. Luckily, Bet-at-Home offers up-to-date statistics across multiple sports with access to information on head-to-heads, referees, stadiums as well as previous seasons. The Bet-at-Home blog also provides insight into upcoming sporting events with analysis and statistics which undoubtedly help punters with their betting.

    Bet-at Home Mobile Apps

Like the majority of online betting sites, Bet-at-Home has created a mobile app which can easily be downloaded from all major app stores. Although it is quick and easy to download and install, the actual app is incredibly basic. Nevertheless, you can still access hundreds of pre-match and live markets as well as place combination bets whilst on the move.

There are no frills when it comes to this mobile betting app, however, I encountered very few problems and it worked effectively throughout.

I was impressed by how quickly I was able to place bets, however, having used far more advanced mobile betting apps, I found the design and layout of the app to be incredibly simplistic.

    Bet-at-Home Banking

Bet-at-Home accepts a variety of deposit methods with the full list of options available on their site. Most major deposit methods are available including VISA, Neteller, Skrill and Trustly, however, the lack of PayPal is a notable omission. They could also benefit from adding newer methods such as Apple Pay. Nevertheless, deposits are credited instantly and I found it incredibly straightforward to fund my account using my VISA debit card.

With the exception of PaySafeCard, the majority of methods are also available for withdrawals. Although I ran into technical problems at the first attempt, I managed to withdraw my winnings and this was processed within 72 hours. If I had opted to use an e-wallet, this is likely to have been completed within 48 hours.

    Bet-at-Home’s Customer Support

The Bet-at-Home FAQ page is a handy way to solve various conundrums and you can use the drop down menu to select a variety of topics. If you can’t find an answer to your issue, then there is 24/7 customer support available. The best way to get in touch with an operator is via the live chat service. I was connected within a couple of minutes and here at Mansion Bet UK, we were pleased with the level of service that we received. Having spent a number of years providing players with a high level of customer care, we know how important it is to ensure that UK punters are able to access assistance when required.

The live chat service was speedy and the operatives were extremely helpful and professional throughout.
